  Obituary: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann York, of Bristol, that occurred at the Upper River Valley Hospital on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Born July 4, 1949 in Fielding, she was the daughter of the late Eldon and Evaline (Brooker) Nye. Barb was a member of the Bath Lions Club for 16 years and spent her life helping out the community and the people in it. Barb devoted her life to her family and she was a special friend to many. Barb is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Eldon; 4 children, Corey (Whuan) of Taiwan, Jody (Betty Jo) of Beechwood, Marty (Becky) of Nackawic and Stephanie (Jerry) of Carlow; 9 grandchildren, Trevor, Shelby, Travis, Tyson, Marleigh Sue, Ella, Alex, Natalie and Nathaniel; mother of her grandchildren, Sonya Clark; 2 sister and 5 brothers and many nieces and nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her parents, and 1 sister, Brenda. Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville - Bristol on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 at 1:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev Oral McAffee and Rev. Mark Thompson will officiate. Interment will be in the Bristol Community Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at the Bath Lions Den.
