- Obituary:
It is with great sadness that the family of Terri Lee Kearney announces her passing after a very courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Dr. George Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Terri was born January 15, 1953 in Perth Andover, NB. She was the only child of Frank Esmond Kearney and Eleanor Nina (Maskell) Kearney.
She graduated from Bath Regional High School in 1971 and went on to Teachers College in Fredericton, graduating in 1973. Her first teaching position at twenty years of age was at Florenceville Elementary School. She transferred to Bath Elementary for a few years and then finished her career in Florenceville from which after 32 years she retired in 2006. After retiring she continued volunteering at both the Florenceville and Bath Schools and also tutored several students at home.
Terri was also very involved at her church where she served in many different capacities. All of her family including her church and school families were very important to Terri.
Over the years Terri spent a lot of time in the Hospital. Although she faced many physical challenges during her lifetime she never complained or asked for any accommodations.
Terri will be missed by all who knew her. Her passing will leave a large void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her and having her in their lives
Terri is survived by her mother, Eleanor, 2 aunts, Edith Hillman and Leola Kearney; numerous cousins from the Maskell and Kearney families that loved her dearly. Predeceased by her father Frank.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm from the Beechwood Baptist Church. Rev. Brian Barron will officiate. Interment will be in the Wharton Cemetery. Donations made to the Beechwood Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. www.gibersonfuneraldirectors.ca (506) 392-1115
