    • Obituary:

Juanita Madeline Tompkins of Jacksonville, NB, passed away peacefully at home, on Saturday, May 18, 2019, in her 94th year.

Born on October 8, 1925, in Aberdeen, NB, she was the daughter of the late Chesley and Inez (Spence) Dingee and was predeceased by her husband, Jasper and her sister, Audrey.

Madeline will be remembered for her many years at the J Clark & Sons and Fox Chevrolet dealerships in Woodstock and for her involvement in T.O.P.S and the Forever Young Club. She loved reading, knitting and doing crossword puzzles and especially enjoyed hearing everyday stories about her grandchildren’s, great grandchildren’s and grand nieces’ and nephew’s lives. She had an incredible memory that spanned 100 years of family and community history.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Shirley (Alton) MacKay of Listowel, ON, Arline (Edwin) Rideout of Jacksonville, NB and Clinton (Nora) Tompkins of Stony Plain, AB; grandchildren Alan (Shelly) MacKay, Lesley (Steve) Fodor, Perry (Jodi) Rideout, Lorelei Rideout, Denise (Rob) Tompkins, Trent (Shannon) Tompkins and great grandchildren Adam, Emily, Steven, Brady, Ciara and Zachary; one brother, Arden (Ferne) Dingee and their family, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Extra Mural for their exceptional service and care, (specifically Cathy, Krista and Mary), the Canadian Red Cross homemakers for their support and friendship over the past three years and special thanks to Gladine and Leisa whose loving care made it possible for her to be at home.

In keeping with Madeline’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at a later date from the Greenwood Cemetery in Hartland.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
