  OBITUARY: Joseph William Markey, 70, of Hartford, NB, passed away on Tuesday October 3, 2006 at the Carleton Memorial Hospital, Woodstock, NB. Joseph was born in Woodstock, NB, June 27, 1936, son of the late Edward and Helen (Corcoran) Markey. Surviving is his wife Lois (Wallace) Markey, Woodstock, NB, children: Karen MacLeod (Greg), Dartmouth, NS, Michael (Wendy), Cape Breton, NS, Eric (Patti), Grafton, NB, Janice Dery (Dean), Montréal, grandchildren: Lauren, Meaghan MacLeod, Andrew, Virginia, Nicole Markey, Tyler Markey, Melissa, Rebecca Dery, sister Marie Perry (Norman), Shelburn, NS, brothers: Henry (Louise), Montreal, Richard (Lynda), Woodstock, NB, several Nieces and Nephews. Besides his parents Joseph was predeceased by brothers: Gerald and Donald. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 5, 2006 at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday October 6, 2006 at 11 AM from St. Gertrude's Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Brennan officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
