Verna Marguerite (Giberson) Derrah, 85, of Bristol, NB, passed away on November 2, 2006 at the Northern Carleton Hospital, Bath, NB. Verna was born in Bath, NB, on July 15, 1921, daughter of the late Cecile and Idella (Shaw) Giberson. Verna is survived by her children: Shirley Ebbett (Ray), Bristol, NB, Wendell (Margaret Ann), Grand Bay, NB, Robert (Opal), Bristol, NB, Gary (Barb), Peel, NB, Eugene (Joanne), Moncton, NB, 15 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, sisters: Flora, Mary, Helen, Frances (Pat), Madeline, Thelma, one brother Jack, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Verna was predeceased by her husband Ray and sister Lottie.
Visitation will be held on Saturday November 4, 2006 at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville, NB from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Sunday November 5, 2006 at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at 2 PM with Pastor Peter Culberson officiating. Interment will be held in Mount Pleasant Baptist Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church or a memorial of the Donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to The Carleton Funeral Home Jacksonville 328-8430.
