- Obituary:
The death of Joyce C. Pickard formerly of Piercemont occurred on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the River View Manor, Bath. Born December 1, 1934 in Glassville she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Florence (Sullivan) Rideout. Joyce was also predeceased by her husband, James; 1 son, Paul ; 2 sisters, Ann and Rita.
Joyce was a lover of nature, flowers and gardening. She lived for her church, never missing and working at the Johnville Picnic, Harvest Suppers, bingo and card parties in the church hall. She was involved in the CWL, parish council, president of both and teaching Sunday School. That was her life's work besides farming along with her husband James for many years.
She had a great sense of humor, she loved to hear and tell a good joke and in her later years at River View Manor she kept many people entertained. She will be sadly missed by many.
Joyce is survived by her 3 children, Elizabeth McCorquindale (Jeff), Jimmy Pickard (Carol) and Rosemary DeMerchant (Ray Freeman); 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Josephine Bulmer as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date and will be announced at that time. The interment will be in the Johnville Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish donations made to the River View Manor or the Johnville Cemetery would be appreciated. www.gibersonfuneraldirectors.ca (506) 392-1115
