Notes - Alfred traveled to Boston with the family of Ellen and her husband Richard Port, arriving in 1861 bound for New Brunwick. He may have settled initially in Woodstock with his sister, and in Glassville two years later.
According to "A History of The Glassville Settlement", Alfred Dexter (Ellen Port's brother), came to Glassville and was granted a lot not far north of the Port homestead. However, it appears he didn't stay long as he appears in the 1881 census as a laborer in Dumfries, York County. It appears he then returned to Englland, and died in 1898.
