    • Obituary:

Ralph Perley Harrington, age 52 of North Enfield, an employee of the Two Companies, Inc., at the main dam for the Quabbin Reservoir project, died at the Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, MA of injuries sustained at 3:45 AM on October 30th when he fell from the top of a caisson into the key-way opening, a drop of 80 feet, landing on a cement bottom.
Two workmen on the job were lowered into the caisson in a bucket and they put a rope around Harrington and hoisted him out. He was given first aid treatment by Dr. Wilmer C. Smith and then he was taken by ambulance to the Mary Lane hospital, where he died about 4:45 AM. Medical Examiner Willard B. Segur of Enfield viewed the body, and said death was caused from a fracture of the spine and possible fractures of both legs and a shattered right arm.
Mr. Harrington was twice married. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Bertha F. (Green) Harrington; two brothers, Oliver Harrington, and Charles Harrington. A sister Grace Harrington. Nine children, Wesley, Albert Earl, Arnold, Miles, James, Noble, Amy Bertha, Eva, Ethel and two stepchildren, Carl Wilson and Miss Eleanor Mason.
His body was viewed at the Guyer-Fowler funeral home in Maynard, MA, and the funeral was held at the chapel in Mount Hope Cemetery in West Acton, MA.
