Knowlesville, Aug. 23 - Last Sunday morn. about 8 o'clock death relieved Mrs. Joseph WHITEHOUSE from her sufferings, she having been ill for some time. The funeral took place Tuesday being conducted by Rev. G. Swim. Rev. A.H. Hayward and S. Young assisted in the service. Mrs. Whitehouse was born in Barrington, N.S. in October 1819. After her marriage she lived for several years in Argyle, N.S. In the spring of 1861 she removed to this place, being the first woman to come to Knowlesville when there was not any cleared land.
