FIELDING LADY PASSES AWAY
Many friends and relatives learned with the regret of the death of Mrs. Rachel Levina Davenport which occurred at her home in Fielding, Sept. 5, [1964] following an illness of several months. She was 89 years of age. Born at Giberson Settlement, N. B., she was a daughter of the late Ralph E. and Mary (Abbott) Giberson. She had lived in Fielding the past sixty years.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gilbert Ackart (Harriet), East Orange, N. J.; and Mrs. Harry Dyer (Mary), Fielding; one son, Creighton Davenport of Fielding; one brother, Ransford Giberson, and one sister, Mrs. Albert Bell, both of Gordonsville. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from the home to the Primative Baptist church, Fielding, with Rev. Philip Giberson, Bath, officiating, assisted by Rev. A. Hatfield and Rev. T. J. Gordon. Hymns rendered by Saunders Giberson and Armand Giberson were "In The Sweet Bye And Bye", "Pearly White City" and "Will The Circle Be Unbroken". Mrs. Roy Haynes was organist. Pallbearers were Arnold Giberson, Bordon Giberson, Douglas Bell, Wilbert Curtis, Charles Sutherland,, and Merton Allaby. Interment was in the Pine Tree Cemetery, Bath. There were many beautiful floral tributes, also donations to the Gideon Bible Society and the Cancer Fund. Relatives attended from Hamilton, Ont.; Halifax, N. S.; Fredericton, Aroostook, Perth, and parts of Maine.
