L. Joe DeLong
1934-2021
The death of Lorraine "Joe" Willam DeLong occurred on Wednesday December 1, 2021 at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville. He was predeceased by his parents George and Francis (Rideout) Delong, his sisters Norma Brown, Helen Levesque, Maxine Dyer, Marie Robinson and bothers Ripley Delong and Ronnie DeLong.
Joe is survived by his wife of 63 years, Monica; 4 children, Lory McQuade (Cheryl), Lisa Tweedie (Adam), Angela Welch (Trevor) and Trudy McQuade; 10 grandchildren, Alicia, Sarah, Megan, Taylor, Brendan, Jaylynn, Adalynn, Declan, Maya and Ben. 4 great grandchildren Tristan, Cooper, Sawyer and Riley; 3 siblings Bud DeLong, Darlene Shaw and Marilyn Argraves; close friends George and Margaret McHugh. He will be missed by several nieces and nephews.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman, he loved gardening, hunting, fishing and trapping. He loved going to the jamborees. He was always smiling and laughing. Joe was a good friend to many and will be missed. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at the Upper River Valley Hospital and the Fredericton Chalmers Hospital. We would also like to thank his long time doctor Dr. Bruce Lockhart. Their professionalism and care were very much appreciated. The family would also like to thank the residences at Shikehawk Place for their caring thoughts and prayers.
