      CLAYTON T. “TOM” DOUGHERTY FORT FAIRFIELD Fort Fairfield - Clayton T. “Tom” Dougherty, 72, passed away Monday June 12, 2017, at his residence in Fort Fairfield, following an extended illness. He was born October 8, 1944 in Caribou, the son of Cecil and Helen A. (Canam) Dougherty. Clayton was a life long resident of Fort Fairfield where he attended local schools. He was employed in the farming industry for many years with Reed Farms and served seven years with the Maine National Guard. In addition to his parents, Clayton was predeceased by two brothers, Glenwood and Milton Dougherty; two sisters, Linda May Dougherty and Judy McKinnon. He is survived by his life long companion, Hattie M. Turcotte of Fort Fairfield and her son, David Turcotte and his son, Samuel Turcotte, both of Easton; two sons, Michael and Kevin Dougherty, both of Fort Fairfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Graydon and Shirley Dougherty of Castle Hill; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Gail Mazerolle of Fort Fairfield, Betty and Jes Sharpe of Grass-Valley, CA, Sharon and Alden Armor of Littleton; five grandchildren, Veronica Dougherty, Alyssa Dougherty, Jacob Perreault, Zackary Dougherty, Kassidy Dougherty; several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be conducted at a later date by Rev. George McLaughlin and Rev. Steven Graham co-officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Dougherty to the American Diabetes Association, National Processing Center, P.O. Box 13067, Alexandria, VA 22312. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
