- Obituary
The death of Robert George McIntosh of Florenceville occurred Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Born February 10, 1938, he was the son of the late Frederick and Ella (Elliott) McIntosh. He was also predeceased by his son, Ishmael George McIntosh, and 1 sister, Joyce Marilyn McIntosh.
Robert was born and raised in Juniper and attended Juniper Superior School. He married the love of his life, Uda Crabbe, on April 11, 1962. He started work for Weldon Flemming in 1958 at Flemming & Gibson store. He worked there until he purchased the store in 1965, and then changed the name to "McIntosh Red and White". He operated the store until 1977 when he went to work for Irving until 1985. On April 16, 1988, he graduated from UPBI Bible School as a proud grandfather. After Bible School graduation he worked for Juniper Lumber until his retirement in the mid 1990's. After retirement, Robert enjoyed traveling, socializing with friends, attending church, tending to his flower gardens, and cooking at Bannon Children's Camp. He was a very active member in the Juniper United Pentecostal Church where he lead the song service. In 1991, until his declining health, he assisted in ministry at the Bath United Pentecostal Church.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Uda; 4 children, Deborah Hopkins (Joseph), Nathan McIntosh (Cindy), Michael McIntosh and Mario McIntosh (Cindy); 9 grandchildren, Nelson, Rachael, Matthew, Brittany, Shelby, Jeremy, Mitchell, Shannon and Melissa; 7 great grandchildren, Macie, Alex, Bentley, Addelyn, Sophia, Jax and Chandler; 2 siblings, Barbara Grey (Ronald) and Ernest McIntosh (Connie), as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 2-6 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Daniel Swim will officiate. The funeral service will be live streamed on BUPC Facebook page at 2:00 pm. The interment will be in the Biggar Ridge Cemetery.
