- Obituary:
Leonard A. Wade of Harvey, York County, NB passed away peacefully May 4, 2008, surrounded by his family at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born at Fredericton, NB on March 3, 1922, he was a son of the late C. Wilfred and Annie (Archibald) Wade. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with 547 RAF Sqdn., Coastal Cmd. He was a retired Captain with the Canadian Armed Forces with more than thirty years service and subsequently retired from the Federal Civil Service. Leonard was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Fredericton Branch 4 and Hiram Masonic Lodge #6 at Fredericton.
Leonard is survived by his wife, E. Kathleen (Hovey) Wade; three daughters, Debra Drijber (Rudy), Moffat, ON, Deanna Wade, Fredericton, NB and Cheryl Weekes (Gary), New Maryland, NB; one son, James Wade (Maria), League City, TX; eleven grandchildren, Cailin, Dan and Luke Drijber, Robbie, Lisa and Adam Kennedy, Alysha-Rae, Amber and Alannah Weekes, Tina Lashambe and Daniel Mitchell; one sister, Margaret Lane, Niagara Falls, ON; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was predeceased by a brother, Archie Wade and two sisters, Mary Slack-Paulton and Alma Bujold.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Harvey Baptist Church, 1929 Route 3, Harvey Station on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Laurie Fenerty officiating. Interment will later at Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredericton.
