Notes - Obituary:
Edward A. Olmstead of Hoschton, Georgia departed this life on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law. Edward is survived by his wife of 67 years, Cora (Wasson) Olmstead and son, Norman Olmstead, and daughter-in-law Sharon Patterson, also brother-in-law, James Wasson, sister-in-law Lena Olmstead and many nieces and nephews.
Edward moved to Canada with his parents at an early age, joined the Canadian Army in 1939, fought in many foreign countries and was wounded five times. He was discharged in 1945 then moved back to the USA where he worked in the defense aircraft industry in Connecticut until his retirement. He is predeceased by his parents, James and Florence Olmstead, brothers Douglas and Alex Olmstead and two nieces and five nephews.
Visitation will be held from Family Worship Centre , 17 Old School House Lane, Florenceville-Bristol on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 2:00-3:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm. Bishop Stuart, Pastor Elliot and Pastor Shaw will officiate. Interment will follow in the Windsor Cemetery. Donations made to the Wounded Warriors Canada would be appreciated.
