- OBITUARY:
Patrick D. Sarchfield 1930-2011
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick David Sarchfield, of Esdraelon, that occurred at the Upper River Valley Hospital on Thursday, August 18, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Born May 2, 1930 in Knowlesville, he was the son of the late Patrick and Eileen (Weston) Sarchfield.
Pat was a lifelong member of the Anglican Christ Church, Glassville. As a proud member of CUPE, he drove school bus for 30 years. Pat was also a Licensed Motor Mechanic. He loved the outdoors and working in his woodlot. In later years he derived much pleasure from sitting on his porch and visits by his children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. An autumn would not be complete without the annual family trek to the Sarchfield Graves on Skedaddle Ridge.
Pat is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley (Anderson) married Nov 10,1951, special sister-in-law Margaret Gardiner (Bill) of Australia; 9 children - David (Sharon) Jacksonville, Brian (Leota) Scotch Lake, Marilyn (Lorne Drake) Waterville, Allan (Nancy) Jacksonville, Donna (Rick) Kelly Quispamsis, Kevin (Tracey) Knowlesville, Gregory (Sharon), Knowlesville, Christopher (Kim) Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Troy (Robyn Welcher) Woodstock; siblings - Elizabeth (Betty) Lunnie, Ercel, Stanley, Kilburn, Donald, Gerald; 22 Grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, Pat is predeceased by sisters Patricia MacKenzie, Marguerite Boyd, and Mabel Donnelly; brothers Garvin and Raymond.
Visitation will be held at L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Road, Florenceville-Bristol, NB on Saturday, August 20, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jane Arnott officiating. Internment will be in the Christ Church Anglican Cemetery, Glassville.
Donations may be made to Christ Church Cemetery Glassville, the Upper River Valley Cancer Support Group or an organization of the donor’s choice.
