807 Obituary:

M. June Boucher
1937-2021

It is with great sadness the family of Maxine June Boucher of Florenceville announce her passing on Friday December 24, 2021 with her family by her side. June was born February 9, 1937 in East Glassville, NB and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Gladys Stone. She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Donald Boucher; her brother’s Allison, Richard and Lewis; sister in-law Grace Stone, Roseanne Stone and Ruth Boucher and brother in-law Darrold Boucher.

June is survived by her children Brant, Bentley (Teresa) and Bernadine (Vance); cherished grandchildren Josh (Paula), Danielle (Andrew), Dominique, Kirstie (Kyle) and Keri (Clinton); great grandchildren Logan, Levi, Evelyn, Bo, Damon and Wesley; younger brother Lynn (Karen) of Maine and sister Meona of Alberta as well as many nieces and nephews.

June grew up in Juniper and spent many joyful hours fishing and canoeing the Miramichi with her husband Don and her in-laws and lifelong friends Bobbie (Anita) Boucher, Lawrence (Ernestine) Sweet and Carl and Shirley Scott. In the fall, she would travel the back roads with Don enjoying the foliage and hunting partridge. June was a caregiver throughout her life helping her mother raise her younger siblings Richard, Lewis, Allison, Lynn and Meona and in her teen years she also looked after her grandmothers as their health failed.

Prior to her marriage in 1961, June also taught at the Bigger Ridge school … a small framed building educating children from one to grade twelve and pursued a year of nursing education at the Woodstock General Hospital School of Nursing. In her early 20’s she spent time in Vancouver BC helping her uncle run a grocery store.

Following the birth of her eldest, Brant, June dedicated the remainder of her years as a loving mother and grandmother ensuring there was homemade meals, desserts and a well run home. There was never a morning when breakfast was not waiting for everyone when they got up for the day. June also was a life long member in the United Church Of Canada’s Women’s Institute (Juniper and Florenceville); a Brownie leader during her daughter’s younger years; and enjoyed many years as a member of the choir with the Florenceville United Church. June was an avid reader, birdwatcher and known for keeping the family together across the country through letter writing. She was the keeper of the family story and history. The thread that bound the generations of cousins, aunts and uncles together with an open door and welcoming smile.

June also enjoyed many travels with Don throughout Canada, Europe, USA including an Alaskan cruise … a highlight of her travel experiences. But most of all June enjoyed her family and making sure birthdays had a homemade treat, a card was in the mail or a warm bed was made up to have company over.

The family would like to thank all those who helped in the care of June during the past four years. The family wishes to give a special thank you to Lorraine Stone for always being there for June and making sure she had all the care needs and taking her to visit family and friends. It was greatly appreciated by June’s children. As well, to the staff of Riverside Court Woodstock for their caring attention and the home visits by Dr. Marco when June felt unwell did not go unnoticed. A special mention to Gordon Hunter for always being available to June and her children meant a great deal. You all made a difference in a kind woman’s journey.

Respecting COVID restrictions, the family has decided a Graveside Service in the United Church Community Cemetery at a later date and will be announced. Donations of remembrance may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Miramichi Salmon Confederation, the DunRomin Stray and Rescue or the Florenceville United Church.

814 Obituary:

Margaret Elizabeth Shaw Monroe
EAST WATERBORO - Margaret Elizabeth Shaw Monroe of East Waterboro fell asleep in Christ on July 12, 2016, after a serious fall.
She was born in Middle Simonds, New Brunswick, in November of 1933, the second child of eight born to Alison M. Shaw and Erma E. Corey. Margaret also had seven additional half-brothers and sisters. After completing high school, she attended the Carleton County Vocational School studying office practices. She put these skills to use at the Provincial Department of Health in nearby Fredricton. In 1954, she began studies at the New England School of Theology in Boston Massachusetts. Graduating in 1958, she helped the school move to their new location in Lenox, Mass., where she providentially met an incoming student, William Monroe. They married on June 10, 1961. In the fall of 1963, the newlyweds undertook missionary training with the intention of being sent to India. As that door began to close due to restrictions there, they moved with their newborn son to Bear Point, Nova Scotia, in the fall of 1964 to pastor a church. By then she was the mother of one young son. Shortly after the birth of her second son, she contracted tuberculosis and spent 11 traumatic months in a sanitorium some 200 miles away. The family relocated to Springfield, Vt., in 1970, where Margaret led a children's ministry alongside her husband's pastoral work, which they carried on in their next church in Friendship. In 1991, she became a citizen of the United States.
In every home, whether in Springfield, Friendship, or most recently in East Waterboro, Margaret's passion for gardening was noticed and enjoyed by all. Her creative arrangements often graced the altar of their churches.
Besides gardening, Margaret's main passions were children's ministries, world missions, and devotion to her husband. She was a faithful prayer warrior, often thinking of others and serving them well. Many friends and neighbors enjoyed gifts of garden produce, flowers or baked goods. She was a member of the Goodwins Mill Advent Christian Church and the Women's Home and Foreign Mission Society.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years; her children, John (Lydia) of Churchville, N.Y., and Philip (Kim) of Abington, Pa.; four grandchildren, Abigail, Aaron, Samuel, and Jared; all her siblings, Alice Long of Somerville, N.B., Eleanor of Clemmons, N.C., George of Framingham, Mass., Mary Granato of Burlington, ON, John (Jean) of Fredericton, N.B., David (Dorothy) of Vancouver, B.C., Annie Mae Tysick (Dennis) of Kingston, ON; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, July 14, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at the
Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco. Services will be held at the Advent Christian Church of Goodwins Mills on Friday, July 15, at 2 p.m., with reception to follow. Graveside service will be held on the following day at 1:30 p.m. at Lakeside Cemetery, Morris, Conn.

Obituary:

With appreciation of a life lived in full, the family of Ellen (Helen) Barry announce her peaceful death at home in Grand Bay-Westfield on Saturday, July, 22, 2017. Born on September 11, 1923 in Johnville, Carleton Co., NB. She was eldest daughter of the late Cloud and Gertrude (Pickard) Boyd.

Helen graduated high school in 1941 from St. Mary's Academy. The following year, she was granted a First Class Teacher's License from the Provincial Normal School in Fredericton. Always a teacher, in school or out, she began her first job at eighteen, teaching in a one-room school house in Kiloween, Carleton Co. She taught until 1976 and finished her classroom career as a grade one teacher at Grand Bay Elementary. Her 'little people', as she called her first-graders, grew up in her classes. Many of her pupils never forgot the help and care 'Mrs. Barry' gave to their first year of schooling.

Helen married Ronald Barry on June 30, 1948 in the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Johnville. They began married life in Petersville, Queen's Co., before moving to Grand Bay and raising six children. They were married for over thirty-five years when Ronnie died. She was also predeceased by two sons: Lynn and Louis; her first grandchild: Jennifer MacFarlane; sister: Maddie Logue (Johnny); brothers: Basil Boyd (Teresa); Walter (Sam) Boyd (Betty); and Arnold Boyd (Cecelia).

She is survived by her sons: Boyd and Paul, Grand Bay-Westfield; daughters: Suzanne MacFarlane, Saint John; Jacqueline Butler, Calgary AB; daughter-in-law: Joanne Barry, Quispamsis; grandchildren: Nicholas MacFarlane (Nicola), Caledonia, ON; Matthew Butler and Andrew Butler, Sydney, NS; Emily Butler, Calgary; Shannon Wentworth (Scott), Quispamsis; Jan Barry (Mike Mazerolle); Grand Bay-Westfield; and Shelby Barry, Saint John; great-grandchildren: Loucas and Bodhi Wentworth and Maisie Mazerolle; sisters: Barbara Krochenski (Walter, deceased); Wilhelmina (Billie) Benson (Joe, deceased); Denise Vanderkley (Karl); and Pauline Lavery (Alex); and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Helen was a relentless reader. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, cross stitch and refinishing furniture. She was an enthusiast at auctions and, in later years, revelled in deals found and negotiated via Kijiji. Virtually her whole life, she loved singing and dancing.

A devout Catholic, she practiced her faith with thought and grace. Family was her other abiding love. She was a devoted wife, a selfless mother and an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother. She filled everyone's bellies with homemade breads, pies and cookies and nourished hearts and minds with learning, love and laughter.

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful and caring staff of the Extra-Mural Program, especially Mum's primary nurse, Ralph Johnson RN. To Judy Hickson, PSW, we will always be grateful for the uplifting and compassionate care you provided Mum when she needed it the most.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 1-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Grand Bay-Westfield on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. Internment will be held in St. Augustine's Cemetery.

861 Obituary:

Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to our hero, Wayne Rodney Dow, loving husband, dad, grampie and brother. On December 1, 2023, surrounded by his family, Wayne peacefully left our lives much too soon after a courageous battle with IPF (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis).

Wayne was born in Bath, NB on October 14, 1959, youngest child of the late Charles and Iva Dow of Beckim Settlement. He was also predeceased by his brother Ray.

Wayne is survived by his high school sweetheart and love of his life of 43 years Merrietta (Piper), daughter Jennifer (Ryan) Callahan and son Brandon (Victoria) and two special grandchildren Lauren Callahan and Greyson Dow. He is also survived by his siblings Charlene (Craig) Dickinson, Judy (Harold) Lawrence, Merlin (Sharon) , Lynwood (Lisa) , sister in law Debbie (late Ray), brother in law Fred (Valerie) Piper, Aubrey (Kathy) Piper, Gladwyn (Sheila) Piper, sister in law Cheryl (late Gary) Piper, sister in law Joyce Petersen, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In his younger years Wayne loved to play basketball. He loved being outside and enjoyed metal detecting, fishing and partridge hunting. He loved to travel, especially near the water, and his special place was St Andrews. Wayne started his career at Atlantic Wholesalers until the branch closed. He then became office supervisor at DOT Woodstock and retired in 2020 after 32 years.

Wayne’s diagnosis of IPF came in February 2023 but by then he was in the later stages of this terrible disease. Our hope was to get to Toronto for lung transplant but his body could just not make the journey.

We would like to thank Dr. Stone of URV Hospital, Waterville for all his efforts and hard work, the RT’s, Tania Price from Extra Mural and the staff of the ICU, who cared for Wayne in his last days. Thank you Jenn Matthews. Your kindness and compassion will always be remembered.

Keeping with Wayne's wishes, cremation will take place. We will visit St Andrews again dear and some of those destinations we planned to see. We love you and miss you.

Visitation will be at the Carleton Funeral home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 12PM to 1:45 PM, Service will directly follow in the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne’s honor can be made to NB Lung or an organization of the donor’s choice.

Interment will be at the Bloomfield United Church Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill |Road, Jacksonville NB.

Mom had a big heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She loved to garden and preserve what mother nature provided and she shared her goodies with everyone. Her only request was return the bottle if you can. Mom loved to clean, and her house was always neat and tidy. If there is any cleaning in heaven God chose wisely. She was a no-frills lady who loved the simple pleasures of life and had a special love for animals. If a stray came along, it quickly became part of the family, and we all loved her for that. Mom this isn’t goodbye. It is see ya until we meet again.

A special thank you to Dr. Perley, Extra Mural and Ann Estey mom’s homecare worker) we could never have kept Mom at home without your love and support.

Our Mom served in the Second World War with the CWAC in an Administration unit in St. John, New Brunswick and was very honoured to have done so. She took such pride in her service to her country.
Mom was a wonderful story teller, some of our favourite memories are of being curled up beside her listening to her regaling us with stories from her childhood and life along the Tobique River in New Brunswick where she grew up.

Being a single Mom she held many jobs in her life trying to provide for her family.
She had a true Momma's heart loving and caring for her children to the very best of her ability. She also loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren with her whole heart and prayed for them daily.

873 Obituary:

PERHAM - Phyllis Barton Blackstone, 93, of Perham, Maine went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2020, while at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle, Maine.

Phyllis was born in Houlton on September 8, 1926 to Roy A. Barton, Sr. and Maude (Anderson) Barton. She graduated from Bob Jones College (now Bob Jones University) in 1947. Phyllis and her five siblings all were proud to graduate from Bob Jones College/University. She taught school in Limestone and Washburn, Maine before marrying Wendell E. Blackstone in 1949. Wendell and Phyllis worked together on the family dairy and potato farm for more than 60 years. She was an expert seed-cutter, truck driver during harvest, and bookkeeper for the farm in alternating years with her sister, Joyce. After her five children were raised and on their own, she went back to school and earned a CNA degree using her new skills to work at the Caribou Nursing Home and Cary Medical Center as a ward secretary. She was a blessing to her patients and an encourager to her co-workers. Phyllis had a loving heart for people.

She was a faithful, long-time member of the Perham Baptist Church and served the Lord singing in the choir, playing the organ, and supporting her church family. Proverbs 3:5-6 were her life verses. She finished her life as she lived it - trusting in the Lord and being directed by Him.

Phyllis loved her family. Her life revolved around family gatherings, especially Christmas celebrations, which included her famous Blackstone Special, and the annual 4th of July Barton celebration at the lake, and family accomplishments. She was very proud of her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. Even as she grew older, she kept in touch on Facebook with her inspirational messages, her iPad, and FaceTime. She was a texting Gram extraordinaire. Her use of technology was impressive and her card making abilities were amazing.

Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, husband Wendell E. Blackstone, grandson Scott Blackstone, daughter-in-law Coleen Blackstone, brother Sherwood Barton and his wife Doris, brothers-in-law Paul Blackstone and Clayton Blackstone, Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Blackstone Fox and husband Larry and Lori (Blackstone) Bouchard and husband Darrell, three sons Rev. Barry Blackstone, Jay Blackstone and wife Tamisue, and Michael Blackstone and wife Julie. She has nine much loved grandchildren: Brad Fox, Elliot Fox and girlfriend Kristen Gamboa, Marnie (Blackstone) Legaspi and husband Josue, Krysten Blackstone, Brennan Blackstone and girlfriend Sarah Morneault, Justen Blackstone and wife Olivia, Alyssa (Blackstone) Weldon and husband Brandon, Michaela Blackstone, and precious great-grandchildren Brynna and Connor Fox and Judah and Elena Legaspi. Phyllis is also survived by her three sisters Joyce (Barton) Blackstone, Gloria (Barton) Dinsmore and husband George, and Betty (Barton) Tompkins and husband Wendell, and one brother Roy A. Barton, Jr. and wife Joyce.

Phyllis’s family would like to thank the administration and staff at Leisure Village, especially THE GIRLS, for their loving care and concern for our mother. Also, our sincere thanks for the expert advice and assistance we received from those at the Aroostook House of Comfort.

Calling hours will be held at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street in Presque Isle on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 from 6-9 p.m. with limited entance capacity and using social distancing practices. 885 Obituary:

Raymond Douglas Crabbe, born on May 20th, 1948, embarked on his final journey to be with his Lord and Savior on March 11, 2024, succumbing to illness. His departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him deeply.

Raymond's legacy of love and devotion will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Paulette, who was the cornerstone of his life. He is also survived by his mother, Sadie Crabbe, his daughter Angie Crabbe, brother Donald Crabbe, and his cherished grandchildren Caleb Gilbert, Indira Trowsdale, Tiana Trowsdale, and Jemma Trowsdale, nephew Ben, niece Spring, son-in-law Stephen (Grace) Trowsdale, brothers-in-law Jamie (Teresa) Chase, John (Barbie) Chase, Michael (Karen) Chase, and sisters-in-law Rhonda (Alan) Poynton, Patti Chase, Connie Chase, and Robyn Chase.

Raymond was preceded in death by his daughter, Catina Trowsdale, and his father, Deane Crabbe, parents-in-law Paul and Claudia Chase, brothers-in-law David Chase and Robert Chase, and sister-in-law Carol Chase.

Raymond's journey began and unfolded in the town of Bristol, New Brunswick. From his earliest days, he was happiest when in the woods, fishing hunting or trapping.

It was in Bristol that he found a profound and enduring love story with his cherished wife, Paulette. Their union was a testament to the power of love, loyalty, and faith.

Throughout his life, Raymond demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his faith, tirelessly spreading the message of God's love and salvation. His dedication to God was demonstrated daily. He started every morning on his knees in prayer. He had a unrelenting burden for people’s souls. Raymond's faith was not merely a part of his life; it was the guiding force that shaped his existence.

Raymond spent his life, along with his father and brother building the family business, Crabbe Lumber. His work ethic is unsurpassed. He loved work. He did not consider it work...'it's who I am'. Attested to by the fact that very few were able to keep up to his relentless drive to get the job done.

Beyond the business, Raymond's true passion lay in people, caring for his employees, many of whom affectionately referred to him as 'Dad.' His compassion knew no bounds, and his generosity touched the lives of countless individuals.

Raymond wasn't just a man of business; he was a man of the outdoors. When he wasn't busy with the mill, you could find him out in the woods, hunting, guiding, or most often, fishing. There wasn't a fishing spot too remote or too small that he wouldn't explore. From the wilds of Alaska to the shores of Newfoundland, he chased after the perfect catch with a passion that never waned.

Raymond's adventures weren't limited to North America. He found fulfillment in serving others, especially on mission trips to South America. Building schools and delivering radios in the remote mountains was where he truly felt comfortable, making a real difference in people's lives.

Many of his happiest times were spent with his family. Whether they were fishing, riding ATVs, paddling canoes, or just enjoying a cookout, Raymond cherished those moments. He was Papa or Grampy to his grandchildren, always ready to share his love for the outdoors and create lasting memories.

Raymond's kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him. Though he may have departed from this earth, his spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he created. In the embrace of his loved ones and in the comforting whispers of cherished memories, Raymond's presence will endure, a testament to a life well-lived and a soul deeply loved.

Raymond's life was about embracing every adventure and spreading the gospel and kindness wherever he went. As we remember him, let's hold onto the spirit of adventure and generosity that defined his life. Take solace in the knowledge that he now rests in eternal peace with his heavenly father, reunited with loved ones who preceded him. May his memory be a blessing and may his legacy of love and faith continue to inspire.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 3-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel at 1pm. Additional seating and video will be available at True North Baptist Church, 167 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol. The funeral service will also be livestreamed on the L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors Facebook Page, allowing family and friends to come together to celebrate Raymond's remarkable life and honor his enduring legacy.

For those who wish memorial donations made to The Gideon’s (Share Word Global) or Shiktehawk Bible Camp would be appreciated by Raymond’s family.

REELEDER, Lewis
Posted Mar 24, 2006 12:00 AM
Peacefully at home on Friday, March 17, 2006. Beloved husband of the late Doris Mae (nee Sheepwash) and father of the late Carolyn Reid. He leaves behind his loving children David, Lois, George and Robert and four grandsons - Cory, Justin, Justin John Paul and Brady, all of whom will miss him dearly. Lewis was born on Aug. 22, 1927 in West Glassville, New Brunswick, the sixth child of George Reeleder and Sara DeLong. He is survived by brothers Ronald, Delmar and Lorne and sisters Bernice, Margaret, Wilnora and Betty. He is predeceased by sister Glenna and brothers Aubrey, Adrian and Floyd. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Lew left the family farm in 1943 and received his technical diploma in the then new world of communication and following graduation joined the merchant navy. After four years on the seas he was thrilled to join the commercial aviation world as a radio operator for TCA, later to become Air Canada. He transferred to North Bay with his young family in 1952, and moved to his present home on Tower Drive, shortly thereafter. As a Station Agent in the small North Bay operation he was very familiar to the travelling public till his retirement in 1986.

Active in Widdifield township politics he also served as a public school trustee and in addition did volunteer with the Kinsmen Club, becoming their President in 1962-63. After retirement he did volunteer work with the heritage railway, but his real passion was the outdoors: fishing, tramping in the bush, observing birds and wildlife, and working in his woodlot, cutting all his firewood and in the spring producing prodigious amounts of maple syrup at his sugar shack.

He much enjoyed the company of his close circle of friends. He will be missed by all his friends and wonderful neighbours. At his request there was no service and interment will be done in early summer. A celebration of his life for all his friends will be held this Friday, March 24 from 1500-1800 hours at the Jr. Ranks Mess at CFB Hornell Heights, 17 Duxbridge.
