    The death of Linus Hayward Crabb occurred suddenly at Carleton Memorial Hospital, June 10th, after a short illness. He was born in Lower Hainesville, June 10th, 1900, son of the late John and Estella (Billings) Crabb. He lived the greater part of his life in the Cloverdale and Hartland area. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, the former Thelma Chute; three sons, Lyman, Houlton, Royden, St. Stephen, and Blair of Woodstock; seven daughters, Mrs. Wendell Dow (Jean), Hartland, Mrs. Stanley Crandlemire (Geraldine), Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Robert McIntosh (Uda), Juniper, Mrs. Malcolm Hallett (Juanita), Upper Brighton, Mrs. Paul Newman (Edith), St. Stephen, Mrs. Doris Milheron, Halifax, and Mrs. Haldean Palmer (Kerry), Hartland; also 33 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister (Bertie) Mrs. Murville Jones, Cloverdale; a brother, Curtis, of Hartland; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral was held from the Wesleyan Church, Hartland, with Rev. B.M. Hicks, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. J.A. Owens. The hymns "Will The Circle Be Unbroken", and "Gathering Home" were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Murray Smith and Mrs. Gordon Hallett accompanied by Mrs. C.C. Clark. Pallbearers were Gordon Hallett, Robert Swim, Gerald Stiles, Lloyd Melvin, and James Tapley.

    Linus married Thelma Lauressa CHUTE on 20 Dec 1922 in Southampton, York, New Brunswick, Canada. Thelma was born on 21 Dec 1904 in Lower Hainesville, York, New Brunswick, Canada; died on 18 Feb 1998 in Hartland, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada; was buried in 1998 in Brighton, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada.     Cloverdale Loses Well Known Man
    John Crabb, 71, Had Been Prominent Resident of Community.

    Cloverdale and surrounding communities were deeply saddened at the passing of John Crabb, at the age of 71 years. He had been in failing health for the past year. Surviving are his sorrowing wife, two sons, Linus and Curtis both of Cloverdale, one daughter, Mrs. Merville Jones of Cloverdale, three brothers, James Crabb of Cloverdale, Everett Crabb of Mars Hill, Me., Willard Crabb of Fairfield, Me., two sisters, Mrs. Linda Adair of Lynn, Mass., Mrs. James Orchard of Cloverdale, seventeen grandchildren and four great grandchildren, as well as a large circle of near relatives and friends.
    The funeral was held Friday afternoon from the home to the Baptist Church in Cloverdale, and was very largely attended. Rev. 0. W. Shaw officiated. Hymns sung at the house were "Will the Circle be Unbroken" and at the church, "There'll Be No Dark Valley", "No Disappointment in Heaven", "The Eastern Gate" and a solo "The Day Without a Cloud" by L. E. Britton. Pall bearers were, Kenneth Wallace, John Hill, Alonzo Jones and Charles Furlong.
    Floral tributes were many and very beautiful. Interment was made in the Cloverdale Cemetery.

    John married Estella Emily BILLINGS. Estella was born on 29 Aug 1877 in Hainesville, York, New Brunswick, Canada; died on 5 Mar 1948 in Cloverdale, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada; was buried on 8 Mar 1948 in Cloverdale Cemetery, Cloverdale, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada.     DIED AT CLOVERDALE. Mrs. Stella Crabb Was Well Known Woman-Died Suddenly at Home of Daughter. Cloverdale, N. B. March 14.--Cloverdale lost one of it's oldest residents on Friday night, March 5, In the death of Mrs. Stella Crabb, In her 71st year. Mrs. Crabb, although in failing health for the past year, was about as usual and was visiting her son on Sunday and Monday. She was taken suddenly ill and passed away Friday night at the home of her daughter (Bertie) Mrs. Murvyle Jones, with whom she made he home. Mrs. Crabb was of a kind disposition and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church, and her sudden passing came as a shock to her relatives and friends. She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Murvyle Jones and two sons Linus and Curtis, all of Cloverdale. Her husband predeceased her three years ago. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Celia Sansom, Presque Isle, Me.; Mrs. Ida Sproull, of Millville; and five brothers, Clarence, Guy and Hayward, of Hainesville; Cornelius, of Fredericton; and Fred, of Toronto; also 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral was held on Monday, March 8, with prayers at the house and service at the Union Church conducted by Rev. 0. W. Shaw. Hymns sung were, Eastern Gate, at the house, and at the church She Has Crossed the Shining River, Good Night and Good Morning, and a solo, Some Day We'll Understand, by Lorne E. Britton, and Does Jesus Care, at the grave.
