Mary was born on August 10th, 1928, to James and Grace (Hayes) Hamilton in Woodstock, New Brunswick.
Mary began her career as a telephone operator in Woodstock. When they closed the Woodstock office she relocated to Fredericton, although this is not where her travelling started. Mary then went to Ontario as many of her siblings did at the time. Mary then went out west, where she worked as a seamstress before becoming a nanny. While working as a nanny, the family decided to relocate to Utah, Mary loved an adventure, so she drove the family’s Mercedes down and worked 6 months before returning home. After retirement Mary filled her time with many hobbies, she loved knitting, sewing, quilting, and needle point to name a few.
