In Memoriam - Mrs. Donald McINTOSH, nee Isabella SIM. Born at Barnhill, Elgin, Scotland in 1809. Died at Glassville (Carleton Co.) N.B., Thursday 13th Oct. 1896, age 87 years. - The late Mrs. Donald McIntosh (nee Isabella Sim) was born at Barnhill, Elgin, Scotland, sometime in 1809. She came of good old Presbyterian stock, her father having been a zealous and otherwise distinguished elder of the Presbyterian church for many years. She was accordingly reared under strict religious training. In due course she was married to Donald McIntosh, farmer of Broomhill, near Forres, Elgin, to whom she bore a numerous family - all born in Scotland. In 1860, Mr. and Mrs. McIntosh and family came out to Boston, thence to Glassville via St. John, Fredericton and Woodstock. In Glassville Mr. McIntosh took up land and hewed a fine farm for himself and family here, on which he resided, till within a few years of his death in the home of his son John McINTOSH, now a Glassville merchant. Deceased had been in gradually failing health during the last two or three years. Mrs. McIntosh's remains were consigned to the grave in Glassville, Thursday 15th, Rev. J.K. Beairsto conducting services at the house and grave. Deceased leaves five married sons, with their wives and families and one married granddaughter. Another son 'midst the forests of the west' was not of course present.
