      Douglas A. Kilfoil
      1953-2026

      It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that the family of Douglas “Doug” Avon Kilfoil announce his passing after a short illness at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Doug was born June 21, 1953, in Bath and was the son of the late Thomas and Seretha (McQuade) Kilfoil. He was also predeceased by 1 son, Robbie O’Neil; 5 siblings, Francena Dugan (Philip), Josephine Burke (Vincent), Connie DeMerchant, Melvin Kilfoil and Mary Kilfoil.

      Doug was raised on the family farm in Johnville where he lived until 2010 when he and Maureen moved Wicklow. Doug spent well over 50 years behind the wheel of the tractor trailer with many sleepless nights navigating the truck over the highways, working for many different trucking companies.
      Douglas became a Chartered Knight with the Knights of Columbus in November of 1975.He also held the title of Grand Knight. In later years Doug spent his summers camping at Spring Water Campground with his family and friends.

      Doug is survived by his loving wife, Maureen; 3 children, Shawna McQuade (Benjamin), Jason Kilfoil (Nancy) and Craig Kilfoil (Sara), grandchildren, Robert (Shyanne), Thomas (Katelyn), Dyllin (Mary), Austin, Hunter (Mia), Chantal, Logan and Shaye; bonus grandchildren, Grace, Chloe and Liam; great grandchildren, Addisyn and Carson; his siblings, Clara Cavanaugh (Ray), Dorothy Foster, Paul Kilfoil, Sheila Kilfoil-Alexander (Gary), Sharon Templeton, Alma Allen (Fred), Trudi Rogers (Drake) as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. Doug will be also missed by his canine companion, Rex and fur babies, Big Boy, Garfield and Bandit.

      Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 11 am from St. John the Evangelist Church, Johnville. Fr. Bill Brennan will officiate. The interment will be held at later date in the Johnville Cemetery. For those who wish memorial donations made to Cystic Fibrosis or COPD Canada.
