  Obituary: Sterling D. Oakes 1961-2025 The death of Sterling David Oakes, of Florenceville-Bristol and formerly of Bath, NB, occurred on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB. Sterling was born May 3, 1961, in Bath and was the son of the late Morley and Eva (Ross) Oakes. He was also predeceased by 3 siblings, Avid Doherty, Sandra Hart and Brian Oakes; 1 brother-in-law, Terry Gee. Sterling is survived by his 4 siblings, Debbie Gee, Mike Oakes (Nancy), Jennifer Oakes and Troy Oakes (Karen); 2 brothers-in-law, Eric Hart and Allan Doherty as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. A private graveside service will be held in the Wharton Cemetery at a later date.
