It is with much sadness that we announce that our dad Norman Ernest Shaw has gone home to be with his lord and saviour on Tuesday July 22, 2025, at the age of 91.

Dad passed away at the Veterans Health Unit in Fredericton after a two-year stay. Dad was born in Knowlesville NB on August 28, 1933, to the late Saunders and Elbina (Sewell) Shaw.

Norman is predeceased by his parents, stepmother Myrtle, wife of 58 years Helen, and second wife Yvonne. Brothers Malcolm (Mable), Frederick (Vivian).

He is survived by, stepsister Sharon (Mancel) Drost Sons, Dwayne (Sonya) Shaw, Daniel, (Ottawa) and daughter Betty (David) Steiger (Oromocto). Many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

Norman joined the Canadian Forces in Dec1952 with the armoured Corps.as a Royal Canadian Dragoon. His military missions included the Golan Heights, Egypt, Israel. and Alert. Norman retired from the CF in 1979 as a Cook. He used those talents to feed many people at bible camps, and church services. He was also an active member of the #95 ANAVETS of Woodstock providing community services and advocacy for veterans.

Norman was a devout Christian. He always looked forward to Sundays and sharing in the fellowship with the congregation of the Calvary Pentecostal Church of Woodstock and Journey Church in Fredericton.

We would like to thank the physicians, nurses and all the support staff at the Veterans Health facility

Visitation will be held on Friday August 01 at the Calvary Pentecostal Church, 135 Wallace St Woodstock NB off Houlton Rd. Exit 188 Woodstock NB. From 1100 - 1300.

A veteran’s tribute will be done following visitation, before church service.
