Notes - Obituary:
Robert Walter Tompkins
May 11, 1950 - July 8, 2025
It is with much sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bob) Walter Tompkins of Jacksonville NB on Tuesday July 8, 2025, at the Upper River Valley Hospital at the age of 75.
Robert was born in Woodstock on May 11, 1950, to Walter and Bernice (Phillips) Tompkins. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Carolyn.
He is survived by his children, Blaine (Rhonda), Craig (Kelly), Andrea (Derek) Anderson. Robert had six grandchildren who he was immensely proud of: Emily, Samantha (Neil), Megan, Ryan (Ali), Gabrielle, and Cole. He is also survived by siblings Gail (Herb), Paulette, Janet (Jim), and Lawrence (Midge).
Robert was well-known in the community for his dedication to trucking and farming, particularly his passion for Farmall tractors, of which he had many. Nothing brought him more joy than a hard day's work, except perhaps sharing that experience with others. He loved his movie nights with granddaughters, westerns anytime, and trips with Andrea.
A heartfelt thank you to Trina and Shawn for their care and friendship to our father over the past several years.
Visitation will be held at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville NB on Friday July 11, 2025, from 5-8 PM.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday July 12 at the Lindsay Baptist Church at 2PM with interment at Lindsay Cemetery.
Donations can be made to the Lindsay Cemetery in lieu of flowers if so desired.
