Margaret I. Drost
1938-2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Isabell Drost of Bath, New Brunswick announces that she has passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at her residence in Bath, with her family by her side. Born in Kilburn, N.B. November 9, 1938, she was the eldest child of the late Clayton and Gertrude Lloyd.
Margaret is survived by her 3 children, Peter, Susan, and Mike (Somer) Drost; 7 grandchildren, Keono, Brycen, Ashley, Nicholas, Isaiah (Alexis), Cougar, and Eric; 1 great grandchild, Carter; 4 sisters, Loretta Butt of Calgary, AB, Twila Hitchcock (Brian) of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, Colleen Dunbar (Mike) of Nackawic, NB, and Nola Ashton of Truro, NS; two brothers Stephen (Edna) of Fredericton, NB, and Brian (Serge) of Vancouver, BC; and sisters-in-law, Ethel Lloyd and Marie Bustard-Lloyd; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Gailen Drost, brothers, Douglas, Dale, and Lance Lloyd; sister Kathleen Tyner; and brother-in-law David Butt.
We would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Bruce Lockhart for his wonderful and kind care and all of the support workers that allowed mom to stay in her home.
Public visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol from 12-2 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm at the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Joseph Hopkins will officiate. The interment will be in the Wicklow Community Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the River Valley Cancer Support Group or donor’s choice would be appreciated.
