  Obituary: Rowena H. Tompkins 1929-2025 TOMPKINS, Rowena Helen at her home on May 25, 2025, 95 years old. Pre-deceased by her husband Earl D. Tompkins and parents Russell Fisher and Ruth Carmichael. Survived by children Debra Mann, Janet Tompkins, Dana Tompkins, Nelda Lapage (Warren), Mary Ann Hull (Hollis), Douglas Tompkins (Sandie) and Donald Tompkins and her sister, Arlene Ebbett. Survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by son, Derick Tompkins, son-in-law Alfred Mann and daughter-in-law Kathy Tompkins, brothers Clinton and Richard Fisher, sisters-in-law Jennie-Grace Fisher and Patricia Fisher and brother-in-law Olys Ebbett. Rowena was born at home in Oakland on October 5, 1929. She married Earl Tompkins on September 1,1951 in Woodstock, NB. They settled in Oakland later moving to LaSalle, PQ in 1964 and returning to live in Florenceville in 1973. Rowena studied nursing and worked for a short time before marrying. She was a prolific record keeper; keeping diaries, scrapbooks, etc. She enjoyed working on her genealogy database daily right up to the time of her passing. She totally enjoyed her computer. Visitors will remember jigsaw puzzles being a regular activity in the evenings. She watched the Blue Jays faithfully commenting regularly her feelings about their performance. Lunch time the TV was always tuned to the Price is Right. She kept beautiful gardens until they became more than could handle. She was blessed with good health and enjoyed a long and happy life living at home among all the things she loved. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 2 pm in the Hunter Cemetery, Stickney. Rev. Nathan Smith will officiate. For those who wish memorial donations made to the River Valley Cancer Support Group would be appreciated. L.R.
