      Alice M. Sweeney
      1936-2025

      The death Alice Marie Sweeney formerly of Beechwood occurred on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville. Alice was born August 28, 1936, in Hevron, NS and was the daughter of the late Ross and Harriett (Pitman) Porter. She was also predeceased by 2 brothers, Ronald and Ross Porter.

      Alice is survived by her husband, Frank; 1 brother, Eugene Porter; 1 sister-in-law, Joyce Porter as well as her chosen family, Marilyn McCullough (Ted), Shirley Davidson (Tom), Sandra Hillyer (John Ryan), Marjorie Hogan (Mike) and Audrey Sullivan (Paul) as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

      Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 10-11:00 am. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am from the chapel. Fr. Gilbert Doddatto will officiate. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors FaceBook page. The interment will be in the Johnville Cemetery at a later date. The CWL from St. Leo's and St. John the Evangelist will put on a reception at Faith Memorial United Church following the service, all are welcome. Donations made to the Martin Kilfoil Fund or the Johnville Cemetery would be appreciated.
