- Obituary:
Mildred A. Allison
1954-2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mildred Agnes Allison at her home on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025. She was brought up on the family farm in Riverbank with her parents David and Greta (née Davis) and her siblings Dave (Patsy), Jim (Karen), Martha, Walter (Jennifer) and John. She showed a love of animals from an early age and after graduating with a nursing degree from Saint John School of Nursing and working in Saint John, Moncton, and Woodstock, she went on to pursue her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
She later opened the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where she showed compassion and skill in caring for our animal friends. She is well known in the community for her work with DunRoamin’ Stray and Rescue and A Dozen Roses Animal Rescue.
She was a twice-published author and the writer of the “We’re All DunRoamin’” column in the Bugle-Observer for many years.
She leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews - Krista (Mike), Michael (Sarah), Gillian (Derek), Jamie (Caroline), David (Sylvie), Jennie, Carolyn (Mike), Russell (Julie), Heather, Amy and her great nieces and nephews - Ian, Caleb, Ross, Mira, Zoé, Charlie, Brigitte and Evelyn. She has a large community of friends and we want to thank them for their support and love. A special thank you to Angie - Homer and Doug are in good hands. The family also wants to thank Dr. Marco and Dr. Wildish for their compassionate care.
There will be a reception on Saturday, March 8th at 6 pm at the Florenceville Curling Club. A graveside service will take place in the Spring and will be announced when dates are finalized. For those who wish, memorial donations made to DunRoamin’ Stray and Rescue or Dozen Roses Rescue would be appreciated.
