Carl A. Cullins
1945-2025
Carl Andrew Cullins was born on January 24, 1945, in Stickney, N.B., and passed away on March 6, 2025, in Perth-Andover, N.B. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Lily (Harvey) Cullins; his oldest son Carl Joseph Cullins; granddaughter Abigail Cox; great-grandson Abel Miller; brother, Frederick Oliver Cullins; sister, Patricia Ann (Cullins) Hitchcock; and his parents, Samuel Oliver Cullins and Glenna Amelia Cullins (McCorquindale).
Carl is survived by his current wife, sweetheart and music manager, Eleanor Gregg Cullins, and their combined family: Wayne (Juliette) Gregg of Alberta; Paul (Mary) Gregg of Stickney; Christina Cox of Texas; Julie (James) Stockford of Howard Brook; Leah (Condrad Helton) Rodriguez of Texas; and Josh (Lynette) Cullins of Texas/New Mexico. He is also survived by his oldest sister, Joan (Cullins) Brown, and his little brother, Raymond (Diane) Cullins, along with many bonus siblings and their spouses.
Carl also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and countless cherished friends. He was known for his big heart, strong hands, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Carl had a larger-than-life presence wherever he went. Whether working tirelessly to provide for his family, splitting firewood for his many customers, or singing at local jamborees, he poured his heart into everything he did. His faith in his Savior was unshakable, and he lived with purpose and conviction.
From 1964 to 1968, Carl served in the U.S. Armed Forces. During his time in the military, he served as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in the Hell on Wheels division. After the Service, he attended Saint John Tech to earn his mechanic’s license and spent over 40 years working as a heavy equipment mechanic across Maine, New Hampshire, New Brunswick, and Alberta. In retirement, Carl explored new passions. He briefly tried gardening before venturing in the firewood business. For over a decade, he cut, split, and delivered firewood. It was through this work that he met Eleanor, who became his beloved wife in 2017.
Encouraged by friends, he discovered his gift for singing and, in 2017, performed at his first jamboree in Argyle. From that moment on, he became a staple in local music halls, recording two CDs and earning the nickname "Johnny Cash of the Jamborees." His musical journey brought him great joy and introduced him to lifelong friendships. Carl leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and faith. His impact on his family and community is immeasurable, and his memory will be treasured by all who knew him.
This is not goodbye-it’s "we’ll see you later." We take comfort in the hope and faith that Carl is with his Savior, awaiting our joyful reunion.
