  Obituary: Samuel Junior Oakes The death of Samuel Oakes “Junior” of Bath occurred on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB. Born June 13, 1929 in Easton, Maine he was the son of the late Sam and Bessie (DeMerchant) Oakes. Junior is survived by his 9 children, Ann Oakes, Peter Oakes (Charlene), Harold Oakes (Cathy), Marilyn Smith (Rick), Sharon Oakes, Joyce Oakes, Earl Oakes, Tom Oakes (June) and Amy Oakes; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Dennis Oakes, Graydon Oakes (Rose) and Dean MacDougall (Linda) He was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters, Mary Crain and Maxine Broad and two infant brothers. Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Carl DeMerchant will officiate. Interment will be in the Gee Cemetery at a later date.
