Notes - Obituary:
The death of John Stitham, of Douglas, NB, husband of Phyllis (Ketch) Stitham, occurred after a lengthy illness on March 17, 2005 at the Oromocto Public Hospital, Oromocto, NB. Born in Bath, NB. He was a son of the late Amos and Alicia (Giberson) Stitham. John was a Veteran of World War II. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 are asked to assemble at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Field of Honor for a graveside Legion Tribute Service on Saturday, May 21st, 2005 at 4 pm. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB.

Born in Bath, New Brunswick, Canada in 1920. John served in WW2 in the Carleton York regiment for the Canadian armed forces where he fought in Sicily, Italy, Holland and Germany. He was wounded in December of 1943 in Ortona, Italy. His one brother George Victor Stitham was killed in WW2 in 1945. He also had a sister, Grace who passed away in 1993.
