    Notes:

    Obituary:
Violet “Vie” Joan Greer passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughters, on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Victoria Glen Manor, Perth Andover. Violet was born July 5, 1937 in Killoween and was the daughter of the late John and Rosalie (Budrow) Giggie. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Howard Giggie, Eileen Rogers, Ethel Quick, Alice DeMerchant, Theodore Giggie, Maxine Giberson and Preston Giggie.
A life-long teacher who relished cheering for the underdog, Vie was a dedicated and protective mother who especially loved her role as Nana. She had a multitude of friends and was a well loved member of the village of Perth Andover. Vie spent most of her adult life in the classroom doing what she loved most. She started her career in a one room schoolhouse in Mineral and went on to teach at Andover Elementary for over 30 years. Judging by the reception she always received when out and about brings to mind the old adage "to know her was to love her."
Violet is survived by her 2 daughters, Wendy Taylor (Mike Nixon) and Valancy Harlow (Steve); 3 grandchildren, Ryan Nixon, Alexandra Nixon and Cameron Harlow; 3 great grandchildren, Skylar, Ophelia and Henley Marie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that held a special place in her heart.
Violet was the last surviving member of her childhood family. Vie's daughters wish to send a special thank you to the wonderful staff of the Victoria Glen Manor for their exceptional care, kindness and respect shown to her every single day she was a resident.
Visitation will be held at L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 12:00 - 1:45 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Michael Palmer will officiate. The interment will be in the Mineral Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Andover Elementary School Breakfast Program would be appreciated.
