Notes - Obituary:
SIMMONDS, Sheila M. (nee Millie) 66 years on May 18, 2008 after beating colon cancer for more than 5 years. Beloved wife of Bill for 45 years on May 16. Proud & loving mother of Andrew Simmonds & Sarah Hughes and Ainslie Simmonds & Mark Manley. Totally devoted Nana of Natalie, Liam & Ayden Manley. Loved sister of Irvine & Edna Millie, Grace & John Demmings, Gwen & late husband Gene Gray, Ena & late husband Harry Hicks, Anne & late husband Garrett Shure, the late Don & Jean Millie, Larry & Carol Millie, Terry & Dot Millie and Brenda & Darryl Jardine. Sheila will be joyfully remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was a caring and dedicated nurse who trained at Victoria Public Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick and served at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Windsor for over 30 years. Any donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. At Sheila's request, cremation has taken place. Memorial visiting will be held Friday from 3 pm until the time of Memorial Service to celebrate her life at 4 pm at Families First Funeral Home & Tribute Centre (519-969-5841) 3260 Dougall Ave. Sheila will then be going home to rest at the Millie Family plot in Glassville, New Brunswick. A second Memorial Service will be held in New Brunswick on June 28, 2008. Published in the Windsor Star on 5/20/2008.
