Jean Reyner Salmon
1930-2007
The death of Jean Reyner (Curry) Salmon, of Woodward Ave, Saint John, NB wife of James O. Salmon, occurred on December 20, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 28, 1930, she was a twin daughter of the late James Robertson Curry and Lorna (Dean) Curry. She had resided in Saint John for many years. She graduated from Sackville High School and attended Mount Allison University. Jean was employed at CHSJ Radio, the Bank of Nova Scotia and the Pilot Boat Office. She was an active member of Portland United Church and was involved with many committees and Ladies UCW Jeanette Ball. She was a volunteer at Romero House, a willing volunteer for many charities. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter Leslie Johnston (Patrick ), of Halifax, NS, her son Larry (Luan), of Saint John, her twin sister, Helen (Curry) Dakin, of Saint John, her grandchildren; Victoria and Rebecca Johnston and Zoe and Zachary Salmon, her special niece, Barb (Dakin) Oickle (Scott) and her nephew James Dakin of Clagary, AB. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister Eileen (Curry) Small. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 2:00 pm, from Portland United Church. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery in the spring. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Palliative Care Unit or Portland United Church, Building Fund.
