It is with appreciation for a long and blessed life that the family of Wilhelmina (Billie) Benson of Oshawa, Ontario announce her passing on July 29th, 2022. Wilhelmina (Billie) Benson, born in Johnville, NB April 1st, 1931 daughter of Cloud and Gertrude Boyd, was married to the late Joseph Benson. Billie was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1953 and started her lifelong career at the Bath Private Hospital. She continued on with the Victoria Order of Nurses in Saint John, NB and Oshawa, Ontario. Billie volunteered for hospice care and worked with the food kitchen in Oshawa. Billie was kindness itself, always with a smile and a good-will gesture. Her thoughtfulness will always be remembered by those who crossed her path. She had a genuine interest in all things family and kept abreast of the life events of her many nieces and nephews. Billie was active at Holy Cross Parish in Oshawa and was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She spent her life devoted to her faith. Billie has left a smile on the hearts all who loved her. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Mary Benson of Oshawa, ON and son Paul (Gina) Benson of North Andover, MA., her sisters Denise (Karel) Vanderkley and Pauline (Al) Lavery of Calgary, AB., sister-in-law, Cecelia Boyd, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Billie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Joseph Benson, brothers; Basil (Theresa), Walter (Betty), and Arnold Boyd and sisters; Helen (Ronnie) Barry, Madeline (John) Logue, Barbara (Walter) Krochenski.
