    • Obituary:

      The passing of Vaughn Gerald Dorcas of Fredericton, NB, husband of Marlene (Lyon) Dorcas occurred on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 13, 1947 in Stanley, NB, he was the son of the late Bertie and Nadine (Gullison) Dorcas. Vaughn was an accomplished construction welder and pipe fitter; he enjoyed working as an Instructor at NBCC. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge and the Pipe Fitters Union. Vaughn was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed spending time at his camp and loved spending time with his grandkids. In addition to his wife, Vaughn is survived by his sons, Darren Dorcas (Charlene) and Marty Dorcas (Cindy Jesso); grandchildren, Drew and Damien Dorcas and Catherine Kennedy; sister, Faye Munn; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Eveleen Corbett and Mary Albright; brothers, Carl and Howard Dorcas. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 12-2 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm with Archdeacon John Sharpe officiating. Interment will take place in Glassville Anglican Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Glassville Anglican Cemetery or the charity of the donor’s choice.
